Music base is Edinburgh's most well known and loved rehearsal room complex. Founded in 2014, but running as a studio facility for over 20 years, our aim was to create THE hub for the Edinburgh music industry based upon the ultra-creative and collaborative studio complexes of London - a home for Edinburgh's top music creation individuals in a relaxed, inspiring setting with its own on site vegan-friendly cafe and social areas.

Our complex was designed by, and run by, working musicians. We wanted provide a rehearsal studio facility that was the opposite of the old dingy dark rehearsal joints that so many musicians are familiar with, and rather, create a space that you'd want to hang out in even when you aren't rehearsing or recording.

Whatever your level, Musicbase welcomes both professionals and beginners alike.  Our rehearsal rooms welcome hundreds of new bands of all levels every year. But we have also become the first choice for BBC, ITV and Channel 4 for their show auditions, plus go-to rehearsal spot for award winning international artists and bands and edinburgh festival acts. Our rehearsal studio area sits alongside 4 state-of-the-art recording studios that can facilitate basic band recordings all the way up to grammy award winning producers sessions and recordings for some of the UK's most exciting and talked-about musicians

Our 6.5 by 4.5 metre rehearsal studios  are the largest, most well maintained rooms in Edinburgh and with extensive audio acoustics treatment, they are also by far the best sounding. Drum kit/guitar and bass amps/microphones and a PA system are provided (we can remove by request if you are bringing your own). Guitar/keyboard hire is available at a small extra charge. We also provide permanent or temporary equipment storage by request. And our staff are always on hand to help with set up and any questions.

We take Covid-19 hygiene seriously and  provide air conditioning in all 4 of our rehearsal rooms and all common areas.
